Argentina Cruise Into Copa America Final

Messi And Alvarez Net In Dominant Win

Canada Outclassed In Semi-Final Clash

Buenos Aires, Argentina - Two goals from Julian Alvarez and Lionel Messi were enough to give Argentina a comfortable 2-0 victory over Canada in their Copa America semi-final on Thursday night.

The win sends Argentina into Sunday's final where they will face the winner of the other semi-final between Brazil and Uruguay.

Argentina were in control of the game from the off and took the lead after just 10 minutes when Alvarez raced onto a long ball from Messi and slotted the ball past Canada goalkeeper Milan Borjan.

The goal settled Argentina's nerves and they continued to dominate possession, while Canada struggled to create any clear-cut chances.

Messi made it 2-0 just before the hour mark when he curled a free-kick into the top corner of the net, giving Borjan no chance.

Canada tried to rally in the closing stages, but they were unable to find a way past the resolute Argentina defence.

The victory sends Argentina into the final full of confidence, while Canada will be left to rue a missed opportunity.
